Recovery of the Musical Tradition of the Caral Civilization

At present, the program “Recovery of the Musical Tradition of the Caral Civilization” is being executed, involving a workshop where the participants (young people and adults) are taught to play the flutes and pan-pipes from Caral.  Replicas of the musical instruments recovered in the Sacred City of Carl, World Heritage, are used.  Since their sounds are not like any known musical system, six musical pieces have been composed and are being taught in the workshops.  Thus, these musical instruments are being revitalized and reintroduced into the artistic practice of the population of Supe Valley.  It should be noted that the team of master musicians have developed teaching materials that enable the students to learn the rudiments of musical theory, musical notes, and technique of the musical instruments.

The seminar-workshop “Recovery of the Musical Tradition of the Caral Civilization” is directed by Master Wilfredo Tarazona Padilla and has the participation of Master Carlos Bernuy and Master Ronald Flores.
